This propoerty are located adjucent to the Sedibeng Mine. The bulk sampling programme commenced at the Bellsbank Pipe (“Boytjies” pit) in Q1 2017 and has the potential, should the sampling prove successful, to add relatively cheap open cut production to Sedibeng. The Bellsbank pipe, located some 10km from the Sedibeng plant, is a 130m x 80m “blow” in an interpreted fissure system.
The area is covered by up to 20m of calcrete, and was discovered through magnetics and gravity surveying. Historically De Beers carried out some drilling, which returned 4.5cpht, including one stone of 1.5ct. Frontier is currently pre-stripping for a bulk sampling operation, with material to be treated through the Sedibeng plant and expect to release prelimary project results during Q4 CY2017.
The Bellsbank Pipe is an existing mining licence owned by AA Van Wyk Diamante CC (a South African incorporated entity) (Van Wyk Diamonds).
Messina Diamonds (Pty) Ltd (Messina)has been appointed as the exclusive mining contractor by Van Wyk Diamonds to mine the Bellsbank Pipe for Messina’s own benefit and cost. Messina has also been granted a conditional right by the shareholder of Van Wyk Diamonds to acquire this licence. Messina reuires “Section 11” regulatory approval from the Department of Mineral Resources before it can complete the acquisition.
This licence has been excluded from the Reserve report calculations as it is not owned by Messina, however Messina has the right to acquire. The purchase consideration is ZAR 2,000,00 9US$154,202 of which ZAR 1,002,296 US$77,277 has been paid as at 1 October 2017.

The operation is also aimed at exploring for the fissure that the pipe may be on – this has hitherto not been recognised due to the calcrete cover.
